“It is the most awesome feeling to see these children grow from year to year and know that I had a small part in making that happen.”

— Oscar Diaz, dedicated fundraiser since 2017

This is the power of a community.

Advocates create an opportunity for community to GIVE. These people have been here in our community, respond to our work, embrace the Aloha and share the Aloha back in their homes. This page is to give you ideas of how you can give your time and share the Aloha from wherever you are.

“For me, the Keala Foundation represents EUDAIMONIA- a Greek term for 'human flourishing'. I GIVE to, and support the Keala Foundation to help create futures full of EUDAIMONIA for the kids of Kauai.”

- Logan Vanderpool

Logan is a well known MC in the CrossFit space. She donates her time and skills to announce both our kids competition and trail run event during the week of the race. She adds to our experience to help give the kids confidence and a fun way to highlight their presence!

“CrossFit gave me confidence in myself and a family that would do anything for me. If CrossFit can make me feel this way at 41, then I know the impact it can have on the kids’ lives in Kauai. I want them to have that chance they may not otherwise have. We support the Keala Foundation because it’s something that we feel really reaches out to the youth and provides them an opportunity to succeed.”

- Julie & Oscar Diaz, CrossFit affiliate owners & dedicated fundraisers since 2017

What started as participation in the UHTR led to Julie and Oscar hosting a fundraising competition at their affiliate from home in Texas. The ways that they allow other people in their community learn about giving back are the organic ways that our mission grows. You can share the Keala mission and work anywhere you go!

“It’s the joy and excitement on the kids’ faces when they see you come back each year to love on them, show them they matter, and you support them. The hard work and dedication of so many that transcends beyond an island is something so powerful than can never be explained. A community of passionate people around the world coming together with one purpose-to love these kids unconditionally! This is why I will always do what I can to support the Keala Foundation.

-Amanda Barber, fundraiser

Amanda has been an avid supporter and fundraiser for our work. She personally comes to visit many times of year and shares our work with friends and family at home in South Carolina. Amanda hosts an amazing Christmas party every year to fundraise and share the Aloha during the Winter months.
